How To: Customisable CPD Certificates

  1. Download Thin Report Editor

    1. MAC: https://github.com/thinreports/thinreports-basic-editor/releases/download/v0.12.0/ThinreportsEditor-mac.zip

    2. Windows: https://github.com/thinreports/thinreports-basic-editor/releases/download/v0.12.0/ThinreportsEditor-windows.zip 

  2. Install Thin Report Editor to your computer

  3. Once installed, open Thin Report Editor

 

Option 1: edit pre-exisiting template

  •  In the top left hand corner, click the "Open" and select our template files here (portrait and landscape needed)

  • you will then be greeted with a few options where the data pulls in from the platform (these are the blue boxes) 

  • if you click on one of these boxes, then on the right hand side in "association" and then "ID" field, is where you put in your data

  • If you want to add a new data area. Click the text box menu on the left (screenshot) and drag out a text area.

  • Any data areas you do not wish to use, you can select them with the hand tool on the left and press delete

  • You can change various elements of the font and text formatting options via the menus on the right side (screenshot)

  • Once happy with your design, click the arrow next to save and click save as and save this file to your computer.

  • Upload this to the platform (directions needed)

  • please ensure that all of the text in the body of the letter is pulled in from the platform and not built into the image as the quality will be lost.

note about the error when you input the image, you just need to do it again and the image will drop in.

Option 2: create your own

  • please ensure that all of the text in the body of the letter is pulled in from the platform and not built into the image as the quality will be lost.

  • In the top left hand corner, click the "Open" and select our blank template files here (portrait and landscape)

  • Click the image menu on the left side (screenshot), click anywhere on the document and upload your custom designed CPD certificate in the format of a A4 .jpg. If an image error upload failed box appears, just close this and repeat the process.

  • Click the arrow menu on the left side and resize your image to the outside boundaries of the page area

  • Make sure with the image selected to move it to the back via the arrangement > send backwards menu so that the data fields can be seen (top right)

  • You can then move the blue boxes to line up in the areas you would like the data to appear on your design

  • If you want to add a new data area. Click the text box menu on the left (screenshot) and drag out a text area.

  • You can change various elements of the font and text formatting options via the menus on the right side (screenshot)

  • To help align the fields you can select the guide menu in the top bar under view, select and drag a guide to create another and move it to your desired location.
