Overview
Interests in the evexus event website/platform are a primary method of providing contextual information to Delegates, Exhibitors and Sponsors. This functionality allows for a more personalised user experiences by recommending content relevant to their Interests.
Interests are grouped into Interest Categories, allowing for multiple Interests within a Category (i.e. association specialisation or activities).
Recommendations are based on a wide variety of factors and are heavily weighted to similar Interests, allowing Users to filter and view content that have overlapping Interests. This allows for detailed content segmentation when coupled with Themes & Exhibitor Types/Type Groups.
Interests can be assigned to multiple Interest Categories, allowing for fewer number of Interests and no duplication of data.
Delegates, Exhibitors and Sponsors can select their Interests, by editing their User Profiles via
My Account --> Edit Profile --> Set Interests.

Put careful consideration into targeted Interests and Interest Categories. Where possible, re-use Interests in multiple Categories to allow for more recommendations that overlap.
Adding hundreds of Interests may seem appealing, but keep in mind that Users have to filter and select. Users are show to engage more positively with fewer, but strategically targeted Interests.
